Destiny 2 players are discovering the fastest ways to power up their characters in the game’s new era. The Edge of Fate expansion overhauled the entire game, including the power grind system. Players now aim to reach 450 power levels, with milestones at 200, 300, 400, and 450 granting access to higher tier loot.
The community has identified the most efficient way to level up: playing two specific missions repeatedly. These Solo Ops missions, K1 Logistics on the Moon and Caldera on the new planet Kepler, can be completed in as little as 2-5 minutes. Players choose the mission based on the day’s enemy rotation and speed through them, hitting objectives to secure a top score and a +3 power upgrade.
After completing a mission, players infuse their new drop and repeat the process. Every 10 to 20 runs, they may receive a drop one tier above their current level, which is crucial for progression.
Efficient Solo Ops farming method
After reaching level 400, these pinnacle drops become the only means to level up further. However, player levels are reset to 200 every six months, requiring them to repeat the grind. The community is divided on whether this system is flawed.
Some argue that players are exploiting these methods, while others believe the game design encourages such behavior. As a looter shooter, players expect to climb tiers and aren’t satisfied with lower-level loot. Solo Ops offer fresh experiences, unlike the older, lengthier Pinnacle missions that demand more time for fewer rewards.
However, farming efficiently means constantly replacing gear at higher tiers. Players face a choice: play diverse missions and slow their power gains or run the same efficient missions repeatedly, risking their sanity. Some aspects of the grind in Destiny 2 may need rethinking to balance efficiency with enjoyment.
