Hisense unveiled the first RGB TV of a realistic size for consumer purchase, marking a significant advancement in mini-LED technology and a potential rival to OLED screens.

Why it matters: RGB mini-LED TVs deliver richer and deeper colors by using red, green, and blue LEDs instead of the standard blue LEDs in the backlight, making advanced TV technologies more accessible to a broader audience.

The details:

  • Hisense displayed an 85-inch RGB mini-LED TV at the recent IFA event, planned for market release next year.
  • The 85-inch model demonstrated remarkable black levels, nearly rivalling OLED TVs, with excellent backlight control and minimal blooming.
  • Hisense’s upcoming RGB mini-LED models are expected to be the first to support new advanced features, potentially setting a new standard in the TV market.

Hisense has confirmed plans to introduce RGB LED backlighting technology to its more affordable LCD TV models by 2026, with the new U9 range including sizes from 55 to 100 inches under the branding “RGB miniLED TriChroma.”

The future: As RGB mini-LED technologies progress and become more affordable, the competition between RGB and OLED may lead to exciting developments in television technology, making these advanced TVs a common fixture in living rooms worldwide.

Hisense also showcased how its AI-driven products are revolutionizing home life at IFA 2025.

The AI-powered home:

  • Hisense’s AI ecosystem integrates with various home appliances that adapt to individual needs, such as the refrigerator suggesting dinner options and the air conditioning automatically adjusting to preferred temperatures.
  • The ConnectLife AI platform, powered by Hisense’s HiStar large language model, integrates appliances across the home, including the AI Cooking Agent, PureFlat Smart Series Refrigerator, AI Laundry Agent, and S Pro Air Conditioner.
  • Hisense’s IntelliSense technology optimizes energy use and appliance performance, keeping utility bills in check and ensuring efficient operation.

The bottom line: With advances in AI technology, the vision of an intelligent home filled with time-saving appliances is now attainable, and Hisense is at the forefront, inviting consumers to experience the future of smart living today.
