Hornet, the protagonist of Hollow Knight: Silksong, must navigate the dangerous world of Pharloom to find essential tools. These items help her progress through the game and defeat powerful bosses. The Magnetite Brooch is one of the first tools players can get.
It can be bought from Pebb in Bone Bottom. The Druid’s Eyes are a reward from the Druid of Mosshome after collecting three Mossberries. Doing more tasks for the Druid powers up this accessory further.
In The Marrow area, Hornet can buy a Compass from Shakra, the map vendor, to show her position on the map. Shakra moves around as the game progresses. The Shard Pendant is in a small room on the left side of The Marrow’s main shaft.
Freeing an NPC named Grindle from a cell on the far right of The Marrow grants the Straight Pin. Mottled Skarr sells the Curveclaw and Fractured Mask in Hunter’s March. He is located above the bench, but dies in Act 3.
His items may still be available after his death. The Forge Daughter NPC in Deep Docks sells the Sting Shard and Magma Bell for Rosaries and Craftmetal. The Flintslate is found at the top of the rightmost vertical shaft in this area.
Far Fields contains several tools. The Weighted Belt is sold by Mort for 30 Rosaries. Destroying the mechanism above his shop’s door keeps it open.
Using the Curveclaw to hit four wooden targets in a circular room makes a red ant NPC appear. Leaving and returning reveals the Curve Sickle. The Warding Bell is at the bottom of Far Fields, accessed by a hidden path on the left.
Tool upgrades in Pharloom’s cities
Defeating the Bellhart boss grants the Needolin ability to reach Weavenest Cyndril. Sprinting back and forth in a corridor there causes a plinth with the Silkspeed Anklets to appear.
In Greymoor, the Pimpillo is in a hidden ceiling room in the upper-left corner above Yarnaby’s house. Completing the Lost Fleas quest detailed in its guide moves the Flea Caravan from The Marrow to Greymoor and rewards the Flea Brew. The Threefold Pin is in the rightmost building in Greymoor that has many balloons.
A “pogo” move leads to a small nook containing it. The Longpin in Shellwood is in a small room accessed by destroying a purple flower in a large chamber near the Bellhart exit. Finishing Greyroot’s Pollip Hearts quest, one of the most useful, gives the Pollip Pouch.
Defeating the Widow boss in Bellhart frees the Multibinder from a curse. It then appears in the shopkeeper’s stock. Using the Needolin ability from the Bellhart boss in Weavenest Atla opens cocoon doors.
Reaching a zone with two Moss Mother bosses there rewards the Weavelight. The Dead Bug’s Purse is on a web-covered corpse in the upper-right of Wormways. Completing Alchemist Zyolotol’s Alchemist’s Assistant and Advanced Alchemy quests grants the Plasmium Phial, which refills at benches and by talking to Zyolotol.
Beating the Father of the Flame boss in Wisp Thicket earns the Wispfire Lantern. Grindle sells the Thief’s Mark and Snitch Pick in Blasted Sands. The Magnetite Dice is won from NPC Lumble in a dice game or bought from Grindle in Act 3.
The Volt Filament in Sands of Karak is a reward for defeating the Voltvyrm boss, accessed in Act 3 with the Silksoar super jump. The Conchcutter is found after beating the Raging Conchfly boss at the top of this area. Finding all these tools across Pharloom will help Hornet on her quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Exploring thoroughly is key to acquiring these powerful items.
