Hollow Knight: Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved indie game, will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2025. Microsoft has confirmed that a demo of the game will be available at the Xbox booth during the event, which takes place from August 20 to August 24 in Cologne, Germany. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong since its announcement in 2019.
While a firm release date has not been set, the game is expected to launch on PC, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and potentially the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Matthew Griffin, who manages marketing and publishing for developer Team Cherry, has been addressing fans’ concerns about the release date and platform availability. He clarified that Silksong’s launch is not tied to any specific console release date, despite previous hints from Xbox president Sarah Bond about a potential release alongside the ROG Xbox Ally handheld.
The development journey of Hollow Knight: Silksong has been marked by numerous delays, fueling ongoing speculation and anticipation among fans.
