The Pokémon GO Cozy Companions event is set to run from August 6, 2025, to August 12, 2025. It features several exciting debuts and bonuses aimed at enhancing player experience. Snom and its evolution, Frosmoth, will make their first appearance in Pokémon GO during this event.
To evolve Snom into Frosmoth, players need to earn 10 Hearts with Snom as their buddy and use 400 Snom Candy. The evolution can only occur at night. Shiny Tandemaus will also debut during the Cozy Companions event.
Although its shiny appearance is only slightly different from its regular form, it will be distinguishable by the shining animation. Players will enjoy bonuses such as increased chance of encountering Tandemaus from Party Play, 2x XP for hatching Pokémon, faster friendship level increases, and one extra special trade per day.
Cozy Companions event highlights
Various Pokémon, including the newly debuted Snom, will appear more frequently in the wild during the event. Players may also come across Alola Geodude if they’re lucky. Galarian Farfetch’d can be hatched from 7km eggs.
Several timed research tasks will be available throughout the event, including “Mousin’ Around” and a Premium Timed Research available for US$1.99, offering exclusive rewards. These tasks must be completed and rewards claimed by August 12, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. However, the evolution requirements for Snom into Frosmoth are proving to be particularly challenging.
The exclusivity of Snom to Egg Hatches has left some players dissatisfied, as events focused on Egg Hatches can be frustrating due to their reliance on luck. Despite varying opinions, it appears Niantic has no plans to change this approach in the near future. Players are encouraged to share their thoughts on these types of events and whether they think Egg Hatches are equivalent to a paywall.
