  1. Long term question regarding Amazon. As sales move online, at what point does a retailer no longer make sense for a products company and instead sell directly? Right now I believe that the manufacturers are trying to protect their retail network, so as not to compete directly. I think Amazon is trying to consolidate all this through not just their own retail agreements, but through others’ retail agreements letting them sell through Amazon Market.

    But with the exception of the importance of continuing selling through B&M stores, at some point selling online through Amazon becomes unnecessary, doesn’t it?
