  1. Ben makes the point that the wearables market is highly segmented, and likely will remain so. I attribute that to the rumor going mainstream in 2012 that Apple was busy designing a watch. Samsung and others got busy with their own watch-wearable projects and launched products before the Apple Watch. So now they’re committed to their own tech.

    In earlier cases, competitors have an Apple phone or tablet to copy up front, so as a result there is less product diversity.
