Sennheiser has launched its new HDB 630 wireless headphones. These headphones are designed for audiophiles who want high-quality sound without wires. The HDB 630 comes with a BTD 700 USB-C Bluetooth transmitter.

This small dongle allows the headphones to stream music at up to 24-bit/96kHz quality. It makes high-res audio possible even on devices that don’t support hi-res codecs. Sennheiser says only about 16% of smartphones support native wireless high-res sound.

But the included dongle extends high-res capability to 80% of smartphone models with a USB-C port. The transmitter can scale down the resolution when needed to avoid dropouts. This ensures stable Bluetooth connections, even in busy areas.

The headphones have 42mm drivers with a refined acoustic design. They promise a balanced sound with a frequency range of 6Hz to 40kHz. Users can enjoy the full 24-bit/96kHz resolution when using the included USB-C or 3.5mm audio cables.

New high-res audio capability

Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is included to block out distractions. But it preserves the clarity and dynamics of the audio.

Battery life is impressive at 45 hours with hi-res streaming and ANC on. It extends to 60 hours with ANC off. Users can customize the sound using the Smart Control Plus app.

It offers a detailed parametric EQ and crossfeed functions. The standard five-band equalizer allows for fixed range changes. The new Parametric Equalizer enables extensive fine-tuning.

The headphones have an ergonomic design inspired by the Momentum 4 Wireless. The earcups resist fingerprints and the adjustable headband is made from durable “Japanese Protein Leatherette.” They are built for comfort during long listening sessions. Wee Hong Kuan, Sennheiser’s Senior Product Manager, said: “We set out to deliver a compelling option for audiophiles who want to keep the same level of quality they’re used to with their wired headphones while enabling them to enjoy it everywhere.

The HDB 630 brings a truly unique combination of fidelity and customization.”

The Sennheiser HDB 630 headphones will be available for £399.90 / $499.95 / €499.90. Pre-orders are open now and shipping starts from October 21st.
