  1. Hi Guys,
I commented some time back when you first started doing podcasts that you needed to work on the sound quality, levels etc etc.
Great to see you have satisfactorily addressed those issues.
Now you need to have a look at a different set.
While you have a great set of interesting topics here, you aren’t doing quite so well with discussing them in an interesting engaging manner. I can see how you guys have the potential and opportunity to build a great platform and forum here, because you are really plugged in to current trends and issues – but that is not the same as being able to hold our attention and interest over a 20+ minute podcast.
Less waffle, better planning of your talking points, less qualification of your statements and more repartee will help a lot. Go for more short sharp one liners.
So – make a bold statement, don’t be afraid to generalise, or feel you have to address/cover all the marginal cases of an issue. And let your co-commentators pull you up on anything they like – and have a lively debate. And let your listeners get into the debate in the comments too by being provocative.
Have fun with it, don’t get too ernest or serious. Have a Techpinion… 🙂
In this forum, you are not addressing a board of directors, or a technical review panel. Pitch it appropriately to your listening audience. Yes we want good info, but we want to be entertained too.
There you go, my 2 cents. Good luck with it. Techpinions is one of the better corners of the interweb, and I wish you all well with it.
    Cheers R.

    1. Thanks for the comments. Our goal is to get into thoughtful, in-depth commentary on the tech issues of the week and I’m actually quite pleased with how things are going along. The repartee point is a valid one and something I’ve thought about as well–part of the challenge is we’re usually in physically separate locations as we record and that makes it difficult to give the kind of visual cues you need to pull that type of interaction off. We were together for the May 31 recording and if you go back and listen to that one, I think you’ll find more of that back-and-forth there. Anyway, always appreciate the thoughts….
