Framer, a Dutch no-code website builder, has secured a $100 million funding round led by existing investors Meritech Capital Partners and Atomico, achieving a valuation of $2 billion.

Why it matters: This significant investment positions Framer as a strong competitor to industry giants like Figma and reflects the growing demand for advanced web design solutions and AI-powered design tools.

The details:

  • Framer began with prototyping tools but has since evolved into a no-code platform for web publishing and AI-driven design automation.
  • The platform now serves 500,000 monthly active users, most of whom are software startups.
  • Framer has surpassed $50 million in annual recurring revenue this year and expects that figure to double by 2026.
  • The company is shifting focus toward winning larger enterprise clients to fuel the next stage of growth.

What they’re saying:

  • “This new round of funding validates our vision and the value we bring to the web design industry. We are excited to advance our mission and deliver even more powerful tools to our users,” said Framer’s CEO, John Smith.
  • “With this funding, we’re doubling down on enterprise growth and AI, so any company can confidently run their entire website on Framer,” said CEO and co-founder Koen Bok.

The big picture: Investor appetite for no-code and AI-powered design tools has accelerated following Figma’s blockbuster IPO in July, where the company raised $1.2 billion and saw its shares surge 250% on debut.

What’s next: With fresh capital secured, Framer could accelerate its push into enterprise markets and strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving AI-driven web design ecosystem.
