Photoshop has further expanded the capabilities of its Beta version by integrating two advanced AI image models. This addition to the popular Generative Fill tool promises to offer users increased flexibility and creative control. Adobe highlights that Generative Fill has become one of Photoshop’s most popular features.

By integrating these AI models, Adobe seeks to enhance the creative process, allowing users to select between FLUX.1 or Adobe’s own Firefly models from the Generative Fill dialog box. “What makes this integration into Photoshop especially powerful is how it combines choice in models with Photoshop’s professional-grade tools, giving you the ability to generate content, then immediately refine it with Photoshop’s precision and control,” Adobe stated. “It’s a seamless connection that helps you move from idea to impact even faster without breaking your creative flow.”

FLUX.1 focuses on contextual accuracy, perspective, and environmental harmony.

Adobe’s Firefly model, on the other hand, promises commercially safe, production-ready results with lifelike quality, offering extensive control over structure, style, camera angles, and zooms. It enables rapid iteration in up to 2K resolution for precision cropping, recomposition, and large-format printing.

The new models facilitate seamless movement from AI-generated content to traditional Photoshop tools like layers, masks, and selection tools. “Think of a portrait that needs a touch of magic,” Adobe elaborated. “Use Gemini 2.5 Flash Image Model to introduce floating floral elements while keeping the subject pristine.

Refine with Photoshop’s masks, curves, and color adjustments so those flourishes blend seamlessly into the shot.”

Initial tests with these new integrations have yielded impressive results, though some AI artifacts were noted, which could be resolved with additional editing. The updated tools are now available in the Photoshop Beta app, and users may need to update their software to gain access to these new models.
